Community Charity: Operation Prom

On Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th, Operation Prom’s Giveaway Event will take place from 11am to 4pm at the Petit Penelope Boutique located at Route 376 in Wappingers Falls.

Operation Prom is a non-profit organization that has teamed up with The Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services (DCFS) to help teens enjoy the tradition of prom events by assisting young adults from low-income households or group homes attend their prom at little or no cost by providing free prom dresses and tuxedo rentals.

To request a free Prom dress or tuxedo, students must be recommended by their guidance counselor and meet the requirements such as a severe financial need.  In addition, the student should be passing all of their classes. Teens selected for the program will be able to choose their dress or tuxedo at the event. Interested teens should sign up at www.OperationProm.org, email: info@helpprom.org or call (914) 672-3070.

Noel D’Allacco founded Operation Prom nine years ago; since it’s establishment, Operation Prom has given away more than 4,000 dresses and hundreds of tuxedos!
