The Poughkeepsie Dutchess County Transportation Council (PDCTC), the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Dutchess County, is in the process of updating its 2008 Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan (Coordinated Plan). The Coordinated Plan seeks to address the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled, by identifying and addressing gaps in existing transportation services and suggesting ways to allocate resources more efficiently and effectively. The Plan will result in specific recommendations regarding elderly and disabled transportation services, and will support human service agencies and/or transportation providers in their efforts to obtain federal monies through the Federal Transit Administration’s Section 5310 program.
Note: If you represent an agency that will be applying for section 5310 funds, it is important that you attend this meeting.
Two public forums will be held to review our “to date” findings, age and disability data, results from our surveys, and prior planning efforts. We would like to get your input and feedback on possible plan recommendations, including ways that agencies can better coordinate their transportation services. Please see the our flyer for more information.
To get as high a response rate as possible, we have kept our online surveys active. Human service agencies do not need to maintain vehicles in order to respond to the survey. You can help simply by relaying whether your clients have indicated a need for transport to your agency or service. The survey for agencies and transportation providers to complete can be found here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KQVX3P2.
In addition, we created a survey for individuals/clients to complete. Agencies can increase user participation by forwarding the link for the individual survey to their clients:
