Activities: Attended the County Legislative Committee Meeting and County Board Meeting. Circulated petitions for Senator Terry Gipson and attended the 10th Anniversary Celebration for La Voz Magazine. Conducted research and made various calls regarding the economic value of our county airport and the $62K Airport Resolution. Handled calls and emails regarding various county issues including but not limited to the need for financial literacy in our local communities, public safety and housing matters.

Letters: Signed on to a letter asking New York State Leaders to use a portion of their surplus to help financially struggling counties like Dutchesss so we are able to fund crucial services and vital non-profits and lower our county property and sales taxes. Also signed on to a letter urging the State to delay no longer in making the Women’s Equality Act a reality.

Bills: Voted against the $62K Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for the Dutchess County Airport. The legislature should pay close attention to the Airport Advisory Committee’s concerns prior to voting on resolutions relating to the airport. Additionally, the county should not expense this money just for the purpose of writing an RFP when we have in-house attorneys who write RFP’s on a regular basis. If we do not have anyone qualified who can write this particular RFP, this is a significant problem in which we should hire an aviation attorney and not a consultant to conduct the work needed for our airport.
