Budget does not make up for the loss of revenue from the Energy Tax nor the one time revenue shot from the state aid ($5.25 million) that is balancing the 2014 budget.
Reducing the entire county’s property tax by a mere $300,000 is not something the taxpayer should get too excited about. If your assessment on your home was not reduced in 2014, then you are potentially facing an increase in your individual tax bill because the rate is going from $3.65/$1000 to $3.68/$1000.
