  • Adoption of a resolution providing an exemption from taxation by the county to persons with disabilities and limited incomes
  • Adoption of solar array at Dutchess County Airport
  • Support airport infrastructure improvements
  • Adoption of Dutchess County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan
  • Worked on Solarize Dutchess and Solarize Wappingers Falls campaign
  • Adoption of Energize NY designed to help commercial building owners reduce their operating costs and increase the value of their buildings through clean energy improvements.
  • Adoption of a resolution moving parks and stadiums towards zero waste
  • Initiated and succeeded in having the Town of Wappinger, the County and FEMA to work together to revise flood maps in the Town of Wappinger.
  • Fought hard against jail expansion
  • Establishment of the Crisis Stabilization Center
  • Signed onto a letter calling on the county to sue opioid manufactures
  • Created and submitted a letter supporting the Drug Take Back Act requiring drug manufacturers and pharmacies to provide pharmaceutical takeback programs to their customers and post warning signs about the potential dangers of opioid medication
  • Worked to establish Dutchess County as a Climate Smart Community
  • Supported funding to create more electric vehicle charging stations throughout the county
  • Reestablishment of the Human Rights Commission
  • Passed legislation banning Styrofoam in large retail restaurants
  • Adoption of a resolution in opposition to the U.S. Coast Guard Proposal to allow the addition of New Anchorage Grounds in the Hudson River
  • Successful in working with the State Attorney General and Dutchess County Board of Elections to get bilingual election inspectors and Spanish ballots as required by law
  • Secured $225K in local water improvements
  • Passed animal welfare laws in the county for the creation of an animal abuse registry and tethering regulation
  • Championed the opening of the new Crisis Stabilzation
    Center to serve those with addiction and mental illness
  • Created local jobs by supporting projects that will
    enhance the operations and economic development
    potential of the former Dutchess County Airport
  • Sponsored a resolution banning plastic bags which would require all stores to switch to paper or reusable options by 2020
  • Established a Taxpayer Protection Fund to enable
    Dutchess County to remain under the property tax cap
    for the next several budget cycles
  • Passed legislation prohibiting the use of disposable food
    service ware containing Styrofoam
  • Passed a resolution in opposition to the U.S. Coast
    Guard Proposal to allow the addition of New Anchorage
    Grounds in the Hudson River
  • Opposed the construction of new county jail and sheriff’s office and supported Criminal Justice Reform at the state level
  • Worked with the Town, FEMA, U.S. Rep. Maloney and County Public Works Department to get various local residents out of the FEMA flood zone in our area
